My Mother lived at Madonna Manor after falling & breaking her hip in her home. She needed assisted living. She received excellent care from all the care givers. They were a loving, kind, gracious and dedicated team. I recommend that anyone one seeking to place their mother in assisted living check out the Manor. The facility is good. Older than some but has lovely grounds. It is the staff that makes it special. It was owned by the Catholic Daughters of California & has since been sold. My mother passed away a short time before the new owners and new management began its involvement.
Madonna Manor in Salinas has been a wonderful home for my mother. She has her own room, but enjoys community meals, the library, off-site events and on-site activities including a lovely chapel for services. She can be pampered by getting her hair done or a manicure right at the Manor. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. The staff is caring, friendly and knows the individual likes. We were able to easily transition her to assisted living and hope that she can remain here, where she is happy and we are happy knowing she is well cared for.
A dear friend was in residence for several years. In that time I witnessed a level of care and appreciative understanding of the implications of the ageing process. It was a wonderful warm group of individuals who came together to serve ladies who in their golden years could not have asked for a more pleasant and comfortable existence ! I would recommend it without qualification to anyone.
